Bedfordshire Freemasons to Sign Armed Forces Covenant
Throughout history our organisation has always had links with the Armed Forces. From Private to General, Lord Kitchener KG to Colour Sergeant Beharry VC – military personnel have swelled our ranks and patronised our meetings.
Recently, at Freemasons Hall, HRH The Duke of Kent and Major Simon Graham signed the Armed Forces Covenant in a partnership to support the Armed Forces community. From 1.30pm on Monday 30th May at the Keep, Kempston, Our Provincial Grand Master and Lieutenant Colonel Townley will be signing the Covenant to show our support.
All of our members are welcome to attend and also members of the wider Armed Forces community, (serving and ex-serving). The signing will take place in the bar area under the famous Bedfordshire Regiment painting. There will be a cheque presentation and military artefacts from World War 1 on display. Tea and coffee will be available. Shortly after the signing we will lay a wreath at the Bedfordshire Regimental War Memorial opposite the Keep.
The Keep is of course the ex- headquarters of the Bedfordshire Regiment so ideal for the event. On this occasion lounge suit with Provincial tie and also medals would be in order. Please come a long and support this worthy cause. Please contact Ian Church on asstsec@pglbeds.org if you can attend.
