Ampthill Lodge Supports Youth Fishing Competition
In July 2026, Ampthill Lodge was delighted to sponsor a youth fishing competition at Ampthill Reservoir in Ampthill Great Park, held in conjunction with the Ampthill and District Angling and Fish Preservation Society.
The event attracted 11 young anglers of various ages, who enjoyed a fantastic day beside the water. Excellent fishing conditions, combined with beautiful summer weather, helped make the competition a great success, with plenty of enthusiasm and some impressive fishing on display.
Representing Ampthill Lodge were Ben Keenan, Mark Fensome and Nick Parkin, together with Chris Watts of St John’s Lodge.

Chris quickly became involved in the action, lending a helping hand wherever it was needed and ensuring the youngsters had an enjoyable experience.

The Mayor of Ampthill also visited the event, showing his support for this excellent local community initiative.
The competition is another example of Ampthill Lodge’s commitment to supporting and investing in the local community, particularly in activities that encourage young people to enjoy the outdoors.

Such was the success of the day that there are already plans and suggestions for the competition to return next year – hopefully with even more young anglers taking part.
