A New Banner as Stuart Celebrates 175 Years

Stuart Lodge No 540 celebrated their 175th year with a special meeting this week to dedicate a new banner. With the full Provincial team present and a large number of guests, it was a truly memorable occasion.

Stuart was the first Lodge in Bedford, consecrated in 1847, and during its early years counted no less than five Members of Parliament among its members. Through the years many famous Bedford names have enjoyed their freemasonry as members of Stuart Lodge.

As well as a special cake, everyone enjoyed a glass of ‘Stuart Punch’, a traditional concoction that certainly delivers the promised punch!

We wish Stuart Lodge continued success and hope to join them when they reach their 200th celebration.
