£7,500 for Local Foodbanks
Five Bedfordshire Foodbanks have once again been supported by Bedfordshire Freemasons, each receiving £1,500 – a 50% increase on last year.
All foodbanks are under increasing pressure as the cost of living crisis hits their own bills whilst also increasing demand, and they are very grateful for this support. As Dudley Peacham, Treasurer of Dunstable Foodbank, states ‘We are so grateful for your donation. Dunstable Foodbank supports an increasing number of people in the local community to try and ensure that no one goes hungry. It is truly a vital service and without the support of many organisations and individuals like you we would simply be unable to do what we do.’
Tony Henderson, Bedfordshire Freemasons Provincial Grand Master, added ‘We are very pleased to be able to increase the funding to the foodbanks this year. They provide a service that is increasingly in demand in our local community, and especially at this time of year, no family should be going hungry.’
