The Investiture of the New Third Provincial Grand Principal
The Convocation of the Sir William Harpur Chapter, held at The Keep on Tuesday 21st April, fully lived up to expectations, with many in attendance.
On this special occasion, the Chapter was opened by the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, Nick Edwards, supported by his Second and Third Provincial Grand Principals, along with an almost complete team of newly appointed active Provincial Officers.
The Grand Superintendent addressed the Chapter, repeating his sincere thanks to the retiring Third Provincial Grand Principal, Rob Venn, before investing Andy Routledge as Third Provincial Grand Principal.
On taking his chair, the newly invested Third Provincial Grand Principal was warmly received with acclaim by all present.
As this was an Installation Convocation, the Chairs were vacated in favour of the Chapter Principals, Sean Hinson, David Weaver, and James Wootton, who were duly proclaimed in office for the coming year.
They then proceeded to reappoint Chapter Officers and invest those taking office.
Two Supreme Grand Chapter Certificates were also presented, with the Provincial Deputy Grand Superintendent, Barrie House, called upon to make the presentations.
At the close of a most happy and successful Convocation, Companions retired to enjoy the customary festive board, rounding off an evening of ceremony, companionship, and fun.
