Soon to be on the Parade Ground (!) a Military Lodge for Bedfordshire
The core founders of the Bedfordshire Military Lodge have now resolved to become a Lodge.
Britalia Garibaldi Lodge agreed to be the mother Lodge at their March meeting, as witnessed by the Provincial Grand Master for Bedfordshire, Nick Edwards.
The group is in progress of gathering signatures of additional founders, and anyone wishing to be a founder has until 7th April 2025 to sign up.
There are now some 60 brethren who have expressed an interest. The principal offices have already been filled, however any brother who has had military service and is a master mason of over 3 years can be a founder.
Thereafter any military or non military brother can be a joining member, and a number have already put forward.
The petition is to be presented to the members of the Britalia Garibaldi Lodge at their meeting of 7th April 2025, for their approval, and subsequent signatures of the Master and Wardens.
It will then be presented to Province at the earliest opportunity for the review of clearance certificates and the Provincial Grand Master’s official approval in due course.
The planned meeting dates are to be:
The 3rd Tuesday in June, September October, and the 2nd Tuesday in November; which coincidentally align with the Battle of Waterloo (Army) Battle of Britain (RAF), Battle of Trafalgar (Navy) and Armistice day.
Thereby covering all major armed services, which will be celebrated at the respective Festive Boards.
They are already collecting Lodge furnishings and a brother has made aptly themed gavels!
The Lodge aims to be “unique ” within the Province who have agreed elements including, wearing of Service Ties, Miniature Medals at the Festive Boards along with the Director of Ceremonies carrying a pace stick.
It promises to be exceptional Lodge for the Province and a Consecration Ceremony not to be missed!
