Snowy’s Big Night!
Snowy Dyson served with the 1st Battalion Devonshire & Dorset Regiment and was medically discharged with honours after being injured in Northern Ireland in the late 1980’s. Having got back to fitness he became a bodyguard & close protection officer, running his own security company.
In 2015 he lost a leg above the knee and then nine months later he lost his other leg becoming an above knee bilateral amputee.
Embracing his wheelchair bound life, he took up disability darts, eventually being crowned world champion. He is also a World Wheelchair Ambassador & Hall of Fame inductee. He is an ambassador for the Plymouth & Paignton Youth Academies & the founder of the Plymouth Disabled Darts League. He now plays in the Bedfordshire at both local and County level.
When he moved to Arlesey, he fulfilled his ambition to follow in the footsteps of his Great Grandfather by becoming a Freemason, joining the Robert Bloomfield Lodge 8328.
Snowy was Initiated in February 2023, Passed in April and on the 26th October he became a Master Mason in a special ceremony adapted to accommodate his wheelchair.
It was a great evening, with the occasion being well supported by Lodge Members, Officers of the Province and Snowy’s fellow members of the BEDA Chapter.
