One Hundred Years for Bedford Castle Rose Croix Chapter

It has been 100 years since the consecration of Bedford Castle Rose Croix Chapter which first met in July 1925.

The chapter celebrated this remarkable milestone on Friday 31st October 2025, on Halloween!

Over 60 attended the meeting including:

  • Reverend Dr. Simon Thorne 33° Grand Prior and Craft Grand Chaplain.
  • Simon Cooper 33° Degree Inspector General for Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
  • And many other distinguished members of the Order.

During the meeting the chapter was honoured to receive its centenary warrant and jewels, the occasion was made even more special as Roly Hockenhull was perfected into the order attaining the 18th degree.

After a memorable ceremony in the chapter rooms the brethren retired to the bar and festive board where the celebration continued in fine spirit.

The members returned home reflecting on a century of dedication unity and friendship within the chapter.
