Danish Brethren Visit Robert Bloomfield Lodge No 8328
The Robert Bloomfield Lodge recently hosted a memorable evening at the St Andrews Rooms, Biggleswade, when Bro Jack McAlear was Raised in the presence of visiting Brethren from St Michael Lodge No. 517, in the Danish Constitution.
The guests were delighted to be welcomed in their native language by Junior Warden, Bro. Rene Madsen who hails from the same region in Jutland and also thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony and the chance to compare notes on similarities with their own Masonic practices.
The festive board provided further opportunity for fellowship and cultural exchange with the members of Robert Bloomfield Lodge giving their traditional rendition of “The Farmer’s Boy” before the Tyler’s toast, a gesture that was warmly received by everyone.
The visit was coordinated through the efforts Norman Tristram and Lodge Secretary, Paul Smethurst who jointly managed the arrangements with Grand Lodge and coordinated the visit with the Danish Grand Lodge.
