Bedfordshire Freemasons donate £1,000 to Bedford Foodbank

I am writing to say thank you to Bedfordshire Freemasons for the very generous donation of £1,000 to Bedford Foodbank, received last week.

Donations such as yours are vital to the on-going provision of food for those in our community who are in such great need, particularly at this time during the Covid-19 crisis. In March this year we fed 1,055 people (433 of them children) through giving out 459 3-day emergency food parcels. The monthly food leaving our warehouse was over 11 tonnes, up 70% on average, so we are very grateful for all the food and financial donations we have received as each one is vital for the ongoing work of the Foodbank, and is greatly appreciated.

It is sad that help like this is needed, but great that individuals, organisations and communities can come together to meet the need during the present crisis, and indeed provide with support throughout the year to support what is an ever increasing need in Bedford and the surrounding villages.

On behalf of everyone who uses or volunteers at the Foodbank, I would like to thank you all once again for your support.
