A Perfect Days Fishing with the MTSFC
Twelve young people, with special educational needs, enjoyed a glorious late summers day recently when they were hosted by Members of the Bedfordshire Branch of the MTSFC, supported by some guest fishermen.
The young people from Keech Cottage Hospice in Luton spent the day at Greensand Fisheries near Sandy. It’s a lovely setting with wildlife in abundance, red kites flying overhead and dragon flies dancing around. You could not ask for better!
With fish, of many types and sizes, biting really well, everyone had a very peaceful and enjoyable couple of hours by the water.
After enjoying hotdogs, cheeseburgers and homemade cakes for lunch, prepared by Richard Frood and his helpers, all the youngsters were presented with medals and certificates of achievement before heading home.
The days, organised by the members of the Bedfordshire Centenary Fishing Lodge No 9151 and the MTSFC team, are very rewarding and really benefit the young people who attend.
As well as funding for the events, there is a need for more helpers and fishermen to volunteer a few hours here and there, so if you or your lodge members could support this good work please contact Richard Frood on 07712 542769 or email richardfrood@gmail.com for more information.
