Roger De Somery Rugby Lodge, Getting Ready for the New Season
On Saturday 3rd August, Roger de Somery Rugby Lodge No 6488, sponsored the match balls at Luton RFC’s Summer Sizzler event. The day included a Mixed Sevens Touch-Rugby competition, bouncy castle, coconut shy, barbecue and other family fun attractions.
Current Master, Gary Jones, was accompanied by Simon Barter, Scott Cheal and Steven Thrale who were all on hand to give out leaflets promoting the Lodge and engaging players and supporters in discussions about Freemasonry.
Roger de Somery Rugby Lodge are also sponsoring the Match Balls for the first game of the Season on Sept 7th where they will have a table at the pre-match Ex-Players Lunch. Simon who played in the Luton RFC 1st team for 16 years will be hosting the table and giving a short talk on the similarities between Rugby and Freemasonry.
Gary Jones said “We are keen to encourage current and past-players to consider joining Freemasonry. We’d like to make ties with all of the local Clubs in Bedfordshire to promote Freemasonry in general and to attract Members to our Rugby themed Lodge.”
