TLC Teddies Bringing Comfort to Afghan Refugees
By now we’ve all seen the heart-breaking scenes of Afghan refugees forced to flee their homes.
Middlesex Freemason Paul Sully has been volunteering to welcome refugees arriving at Heathrow airport, and realised that Teddies for Loving Care – usually given by Freemasons to children in hospital – could help provide a little bit of comfort to the youngest arrivals who have been traumatised by their experiences.
“To see the sad faces of obviously distressed young toddlers walking up the gang way into the Terminal building was something I will not forget for a while. Something that will always remain with me for the rest of my life was the huge smiles from the same children when they received the TLC Bears. I have never felt more proud to be a Freemason”
Huge thanks to TLC Middlesex and TLC Appeal – Essex who donated nearly 2,000 bears – and partcicularly Paul Craker and Noubar Manoukian From Provincial Grand Lodge of Middlesex ; and Robert Whittingham and Joe Curtiss from Essex Freemasons.
