Tea and Cakes to Remember Matthew
At only 35 years young, Matthew Rainbow, son of Sue and E Comp John Rainbow died from his brain tumour after a long slow battle.
The companions of the Bedfordshire Schools’ Chapter no 5974, held a Tea and Cakes celebration of Matthew’s life in the garden of Bob and Maureen Venn on a sunny summer afternoon. Live entertainment was provided by E Comp Simon Barter.
So many delicious variations of cake, a constant flow of fresh hot tea, plus the odd glass of bubbly resulted in a sizeable sum to be donated to Brain Tumour Research, a charity which currently receives no additional Government funding.
The companions of Bedfordshire Schools’ Chapter No. 5974 topped it up to £500. Matthew would have been very pleased and Sue and John have an extra treasured memory of their son.
