Last Golf Match of the Year
The Golf Section of the Bedfordshire Masonic Sports Association held their final match of this year at the Wyboston Lakes Golf Club, on Tuesday, 12th October 2021. A total of 17 Bedfordshire Masons together with 5 guests met and completed in a Stapleford competition.
This event, organised by the new section Secretary Bro Alec Crump and the captain W Bro John Morrow, proved a great social event played by like-minded masons in the balmy October sunshine.
On arrival members were greeted and enjoyed bacon rolls washed down with coffee and looked forward to 18 holes of golf. Lunch was a tasty grilled chicken breast topped with bacon & cheese, potato mash and runner beans, and all for £45.00.
The winner was W Bro Brian Raffaelli with W Bro Chris Hoad the runner-up, both winning gift vouchers.
This year the “captains charity” is the “Sue Ryder St Johns Hospice” at Moggerhanger.
After a convivial luncheon, Ms Ellie Burke, community Fundraiser, gave a brief talk on the work of the charity and thanked the members for their generous donations.
All Bedfordshire Masons are automatically members of the association, and are eligible to play whatever their handicap or ability, so come and enjoy a day’s golf with your fellow brethren and at the same time support this local charity .
