Elstow Lodge No 8759 – A Memorable Evening

Elstow Lodge enjoyed a very fun and memorable meeting this week, highlighted by the double Raising of two Lodge members who are also members of the BEDA Chapter of the Widows Sons.

Nick Edwards, Bedfordshire’s Provincial Grand Master, paid the Lodge an official visit and was among the many BEDA members present to support Matt Towner and Darren Grace. During the evening, Matt and Darren were also formally presented with their Masonic Bikers road-name patches — Rock-Steady and Ploughman respectively.

The meeting also saw the Lodge make a further charitable donation of £1,050 to Houghton Regis Brownies and Rainbows. This contribution will cover their accommodation costs for the year, helping to ensure that young girls in the area can continue to enjoy the fun, structure, and opportunities that Girl Guiding brings to our community.

On a lighter note, Escorting Director of Ceremonies, Phil Turner’s apron badge decided to make a perfectly timed escape at a most inappropriate moment. Fortunately, the current Lodge Master, Jon Huckle, was on hand to save the day — much to the amusement of those present.
