Bedfordshire Freemasons Present the Sportsmanship Shield at the Bedfordshire Games

The Bedfordshire Games Charity has run an Annual Athletics Day for people with learning disabilities for many years at Bedford Athletic stadium. Bedfordshire Freemasons are a long term supporter of this very worthy event and we sponsor a particular prize, the shield for Sportsmanship. This year the event was attended by the Provincial Grand Master, accompanied by Mike Fitz-Gerald the Provincial Almoner and Steve Joyce the Provincial Charity Steward.

Fortunately the weather was kind for most of the day and the enthusiasm of the competitors was a joy to see. Apart from our PGM, no less than six Bedfordshire Mayors were among a group of local VIPs who were invited to present prizes for the various events. As the rain started to fall the day concluded with the presentation of our shield.
