A Very Special Birthday as Ivy Reaches 100

Ivy Cromack, one of the Ivel Lodges’ Widows, was presented with a gift from the Lodge by the Provincial Grand Master of an an Official Royal Birthday card frame to display her card from Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla. Ivy whose husband Allen was a freemason for 49 years, has now received the card and celebrated her 100th birthday on the 5th July.

Ivy’s daughter Josie wrote to Mike Fitz -Gerald, the Provincial Almoner, to express how delighted Ivy was with the gifts for her special birthday;

‘Dear Mike,

Just a quick note to express Mum’s thanks for the delicious hamper which arrived yesterday on her 100th Birthday.  And thank you for the card with such lovely compliments was also very well received. She has been overwhelmed with cards, flowers, chocolates, and many good wishes, it really has been a wonderful time.

Her special Birthday card arrived safely from Buckingham Palace, apparently the postman was thrilled to be presenting it, we think this may have been a first for him!

We have put the card from their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camila in the very special Official Royal Birthday frame gifted by W Bro Michael O’Keefe on behalf of the Worshipful Master and Brethren of Ivel Lodge and presented by the Provincial Grand Master at the Sunday Luncheon, and it looks wonderful. Mum was adamant she wanted her hair done and to be wearing something appropriate before having a photograph taken!

Again, many thanks for everything you have done for Mum”.

Kind regards

Josie’
