A Trip to India

W Bro Bill Henderson arranged a visit to The Lodge of Emulation in Pune, whilst a group of Freemasons were visiting India.

Having received clearance to visit the Lodge, Bill contacted RW Bro Devesh Hingorani who is a member of Lodge of Emulation 1100, consecrated in 1866. Devesh is Deputy District Grand Master for Bombay and was at the September Quarterly Communications meeting of UGLE representing India.

Attending were W Bro Bill Henderson, W Bro Gordon Henderson, W Bro Phil Connah – all from Cumberland Lodge, and Bro. Bob Shah from St John Baptist and W Bro Kamal from Hertfordshire.

The Lodge performed a second degree ceremony to an exceptionally high standard, and all were all made most welcome. Due to wives also being present in India, the Lodge arranged a white table at the prestigious Boat Club in Pune where they were entertained in a private room all as guests of the Lodge, an evening thoroughly enjoyed by all present.

Bill gave greetings during the Lodge meeting and made a substantial donation on behalf of the English Brethren at the festive board. RW Bro Hingorani made a presentation of an Indian Pashmina to each of our Ladies.
